The manager of PT Bekasi Fajar Industrial Estate Tbk MM2100 industrial area (BEST) planted around 13,000 mangrove trees in Pantai Bahagia Village, Muara Gembong District, Bekasi, West Java.

BEST Corporate Secretary Herdian said the activity was carried out in collaboration with the Industrial Area Nature Lovers Forum (FPAKI) MM2100 and the #Savemugo Muara Gembong Movement.

"This mangrove planting movement is a follow-up activity since 2015 to rehabilitate the environment in ponds and surrounding areas," Herdian said in an official statement on Friday (08/24/2018).

The activity was carried out with the synergy between BEST and PT Megalopolis Manunggal Industrial Development (MMID) through MM2100 Care forum and the participation of tenants from MM2100 Industrial Estate.

Herdian added that mangrove planting is prioritized at the river mouth, given the threat of coastal abrasion that still occurs, where the benefits of mangrove forests for the environment and life, among others, are as a refuge and spawning for shrimp and fish and gas emission from house effects glass.

"With the implementation of mangrove planting, it is expected that other CSR programs such as education, social, health and community that will be carried out together with tenants in MM2100 Industrial Estate and other companies / institutions through MM2100 Cares can provide better results to people who need it both directly or indirectly, "he said.

Furthermore, through cooperation with various parties concerned with the sustainability of coastal ecosystems in the Bekasi region and its surroundings, the program is also expected to continue.
